It also has another number (57363) engraved in the same area where the model number is, as well as some other mark that I can't make out (doesn't look like letters or numbers).The -2 change eliminated the pinned barrel and recessed charge holes in the cylinder. I say early 1982 because later the same year, serial numbers went to a 3 letter prefix on all S&W revolvers.
