I did some research and discovered that Motorola made two GSM StarTAC's that are compatible in the US using the 1900mhz frequency - the 7000g and 8000g. I guess the 8000g has a better screen, and a few more features than the 7000g. I'm on the hunt for one of those too. I looked all over the web until I found a brand new unit.
